Add brewing and fermentation capacity without adding a traditional brewhouse.

The BREWHA BIAC® 5-in-1 is a jacketed, insulated stainless steel conical Fermentor designed to mash, boil, ferment, condition and serve in one vessel when used with the compatible BREWHA Mash Colander®, Pump and Power Controller. Every complete BREWHA BIAC brewing system includes one Fermentor. Add another to increase production capacity while continuing to use the shared Mash Colander and core brewing hardware.

  • Grow one vessel at a time: add brewing and cellar capacity without duplicating the complete brewhouse.
  • Use fewer dedicated vessels: combine core brewing and cellar stages around one tank.
  • Reduce transfers: boil, cool and ferment without transferring wort into a separate fermentor.
  • Simplify sanitation: the heat of the boil sanitizes the vessel before fermentation.
  • Work with full access: remove the complete lid for Mash Colander insertion, inspection and cleaning.

One vessel. Five brewing stages.

  1. Mash: hold the grain in the removable Mash Colander while wort circulates through the grain bed.
  2. Boil: lift out the Mash Colander and boil in the Fermentor below.
  3. Ferment: cool the wort and ferment without a core vessel transfer.
  4. Condition: use temperature and pressure control where appropriately configured.
  5. Serve: configured systems can carbonate and serve finished beer directly from the vessel.

The Mash Colander is needed only during the mash. Once it has been lifted out, it can be moved to the next compatible 5-in-1 Fermentor while the first vessel continues through boil, fermentation, conditioning and service. This is how additional brew-ready Fermentors expand BIAC production without requiring another complete set of shared brewing hardware.

Why brewers choose the 5-in-1 design

Jacketed and insulated for temperature control

The dimple cooling jacket improves heat transfer, while permanent insulation and stainless steel outer cladding help limit heat gain and loss. Together, these upgrades improve temperature stability, help reduce energy use and support colder crash temperatures when paired with appropriately sized cooling equipment.

Designed for brewing as well as fermentation

Heater ports in the cone accept the included electric immersion-heater assemblies. The removable lid allows a BREWHA Mash Colander to be inserted so the vessel can serve as the brewing vessel in a complete BIAC system.

Full interior access

The completely removable lid gives direct access to the tank interior for inspection and thorough cleaning. Models from 1.5 BBL upward include a second large lid port for convenient boil-hop additions; Medium and Large models use one 4-inch port.

Boil heat sanitizes the Fermentor

In a traditional system, cooled wort is transferred into a separate fermentor that must first be chemically sanitized. In the BIAC process, wort is boiled in the same vessel used for fermentation, so the heat of the boil sanitizes the Fermentor before cooling and pitching yeast. This eliminates that separate chemical-sanitizing step. Normal cleaning to remove soil and residue is still required.

Flexible racking and wort cooling

Two racking ports provide the option of drawing from the middle or lower cone. An additional port at the maximum batch-volume level can be used with compatible hardware for rapid post-boil wort cooling.

Commercial stainless steel construction

The wetted interior is 304 stainless steel. Models of 3 BBL and larger use a 4 mm interior tank wall, and the outer cladding is 2 mm 304 stainless steel. Medium through 7 BBL models include stainless steel casters; the 15 BBL model uses adjustable footpads.

What is included

  • Electric immersion-heater assembly or assemblies appropriate to the selected model
  • ETC temperature sensor and controller for monitoring fermentation temperature and controlling compatible heating or cooling equipment
  • Pressure/vacuum relief valve
  • Ball valves and sanitary tri-clamp fittings
  • Stainless steel casters for Medium through 7 BBL models
  • Adjustable footpads for the 15 BBL model

Important: The included heater assemblies connect to a compatible BREWHA Brewery Power Controller. The extension cords, Mash Colander, Pump and Power Controller required to brew directly in this vessel are supplied with compatible complete BIAC systems and are not included with this standalone Fermentor unless specifically stated in the selected variant.

Optional accessories

Is this the right fermenter for your brewery?

This brew-ready configuration is intended for existing BREWHA breweries adding capacity and for brewers planning a modular BIAC system. Because batch volume, electrical service, cooling capacity, ceiling clearance, lifting arrangements and hardware compatibility all matter, review the planning information before selecting a size.

Volume note: Volumes shown in parentheses in the size selector are gross tank volumes, not recommended finished batch sizes. Consult the BIAC specifications for recommended working and batch volumes.

Frequently asked questions

Can this vessel be used as a standalone fermenter?

Yes. It includes the heater assemblies, fermentation temperature controller, valves, fittings and pressure/vacuum relief hardware listed above. Heating, cooling and pressure operation still require compatible controls, utilities and safety hardware and must follow BREWHA operating instructions.

Can I brew directly in this fermenter?

Yes, when it is paired with the compatible BREWHA Mash Colander, Pump, Power Controller and related BIAC hardware. Those shared brewing components are included with compatible complete BIAC systems, not automatically with this standalone fermenter.

How does adding another BIAC fermenter increase capacity?

After mashing, the shared Mash Colander can be moved to the next compatible 5-in-1 Fermentor while the earlier batch remains in its vessel for boiling, fermentation, conditioning or serving. Actual output depends on batch size, tank cycle, brewing schedule, utilities and staffing.

Does the listed tank volume equal the recommended batch size?

No. The listed volume is gross tank volume. Headspace and process requirements reduce the recommended working volume, so use the BIAC specifications when selecting a size.
