Pursuing Your Dream

starting a brewery

Whether you are completely new to brewing, a seasoned brewer making a switch to electric, starting a nano, micro or distribution brewery, adding a tap of your own beer in your restaurant, or just deciding to take your brewing to the next level, purchasing new brewing equipment can seem a bit overwhelming.

We'd be happy to walk you through the process, answer any questions you might have and help you with selecting the equipment that will best fit your needs.

A great place to start is by reading the articles and watching the videos in the 'Learn' section of the website. Your search can be narrowed down by selecting one of the topics at the top. A couple of video recommendations:

  1. this video provides a concise overview of the brewing process
  2. this video details simple steps on how to open a brewery (includes floor plans and a sample budget)

If you would like to see a BIAC system first hand and discuss installation and operation, a number of customers (home and pro brewers) have opened their businesses and homes for a one day workshop (see details for commercial brewer and home brewer). Or if you just have a few questions you would like to bounce off a professional, several of our commercial customers have offered to be a consultant for another startup brewery (contact us for details).

And you are welcome to come visit us at our shop in the Craft Beer Capital of Canada (Victoria, BC). The Victoria International Airport is about a 20 minute drive from our warehouse (and the Victoria Clipper high speed ferry has a round trip daily from downtown Seattle) so it is possible to make the round trip in one day—or stay for a few days and explore this beautiful part of the world.

Need a quote? We would be happy to send you a quote and highlight information on our website that you will find helpful in planning out your brewery. Please complete the form below, and in the 'Comment' section provide us with answers to the following four questions:

  1. What size of system you want and how many additional fermenters. If you have NOT decided this yet, please indicate approximately how many pints/day you would like to be able to sell and/or how many seats you will or think you will have in your brewpub — this gives us an indication of what equipment you will need.
  2. In the first 5 years of operation, do you plan to mostly focus on in-house sales (ie. pints and growlers) or on distribution accounts?
  3. Where will your brewery be located (postal or zip code is enough if you haven't chosen a place yet)? This is mostly to help determine freight cost but might be relevant for a few other items as well.

This only need to be answered if you have your building already:

4. What is the ceiling height directly above the area where you will be brewing?

And that's it! We will assemble a quote and supporting information to help you with your planning and email you back within 24 hours (check your spam folder if you don't see a reply in your inbox).
