March 7S 1 HP magnetic drive brewery pump for hot wort and water

The March TE-7S-MD is a high-flow magnetic drive brewery pump built for moving hot wort and water in professional brewing systems. It is a strong choice for brewers who need dependable transfer, circulation, and process flow without the maintenance burden of a mechanical shaft seal.

  • Best for: professional breweries, pilot systems, hot liquor transfer, hot wort transfer, brewery recirculation, and larger BREWHA brewing systems.
  • High-flow performance: up to 53 GPM / 200 LPM maximum flow.
  • Strong head pressure: up to 57 ft / 17 m maximum head.
  • Sanitary connections: welded 1.5 in tri-clamp connectors.
  • Flexible power: can be wired for either 120V or 240V power.
  • Lower-maintenance design: magnetic drive pump head with no mechanical shaft seal.

Why choose a magnetic drive wort pump?

Magnetic drive pumps use a magnet to turn the impeller, allowing the impeller to be fully enclosed inside the pump head. Because there is no mechanical seal where a drive shaft enters the pump head, there is less risk of seal leakage and less routine maintenance compared with many direct-drive pump designs.

Magnetic drive pumps are also not positive displacement pumps, which helps reduce the risk of over-pressurizing a closed line. For brewery use, this makes the March 7S a dependable option for hot water and wort movement when installed and operated correctly.

Installation and operation notes

  • Do not run dry: this pump requires liquid in the pump head to lubricate and cool the impeller and shaft.
  • Use an unrestricted inlet: always keep the inlet/supply side fully open and free flowing.
  • Use a larger inlet hose: use a 1 in or larger diameter hose on the pump supply/inlet side.
  • Control flow on the outlet only: regulate flow with a valve on the discharge/outlet side. BREWHA's Stainless Sanitary Diaphragm Valve is well suited for outlet-side flow control.
  • Avoid high solids: do not allow large amounts of grain or solids to enter the pump hose.
  • Prime before operation: this is a non-self-priming pump and must be full of liquid before running.

Electrical and controller notes

Some assembly of the cart and power cord may be required when those options are included. A qualified person or electrician should connect the power cord to the pump and appropriate plug, or hard-wire the pump where required.

If connecting the pump to a BREWHA Power Controller Box, L6-15 cord ends are supplied with each BREWHA box and the pump should be wired according to the high-voltage pattern on the pump. Do not connect this 1 HP pump to a BREWHA BHPBWT single-heater controller used with pilot brewery systems, as total draw will exceed the controller rating. If hard-wiring or connecting to your own supply, ensure the supply-side fuse and circuit are properly rated. Refer to the pump specifications sheet below.

March 7S vs March 815 brewery pump

The March 7S is the larger, more powerful option for commercial and higher-flow brewery use. For smaller systems or homebrew applications, see the March 815 1/25 HP homebrew pump.

Pump Best for
March 7S 1 HP pump Professional brewing systems, high-flow wort transfer, hot liquor transfer, and larger BREWHA systems.
March 815 1/25 HP pump Smaller systems, homebrewing, and lower-flow brewery transfer needs.

Frequently asked questions

Can the March 7S pump hot wort?

Yes. The March TE-7S-MD is built specifically to handle hot wort and water in brewery applications.

Is this pump self-priming?

No. This is a non-self-priming magnetic drive pump. The pump head must be full of liquid before operation.

Can this pump be run dry?

No. The pump should not be run dry at any time. Running dry can overheat and damage the impeller and shaft.

Where should I control flow?

Control flow only on the discharge/outlet side of the pump. Do not restrict the inlet side.

What hose size should I use on the inlet?

Use a 1 in or larger diameter hose on the pump supply/inlet side and keep the inlet unrestricted.

Can this pump handle grain or solids?

This pump is not designed for high levels of solids. Avoid allowing significant grain or solids into the pump hose.
