The water heater assemblies are perfect for brewery applications where their sanitary tri-clamp enclosures enable them to be easily installed in tanks and subsequently removed for cleaning.

These premium, 100% stainless steel, foldback with low watt density, commercial grade electric immersion water heater assemblies, new from BREWHA are safer, easier to assemble, and better designed than ever before. They can be used as immersion water heater replacements for any hot water heater directly installed in a brewery or water tank, or with our assembly they can be attached to sanitary tri-clamp ferrules on a brewery tank. The commercial grade electric cables used feature high quality Flextreme SOOW cable. To control power output, the locking extension cable with connectors can be added to connect the immersion foldback water heaters to one of our electric brewery power controllers with built in thermostats, or our more economical tabletop power controllers which uses an electronic digital temperature controller to read the temperature and control on/power to the tabletop controller.

Water Heater Element Benefits and Features:

The commercial grade stainless foldback hot water immersion rods are made with Incoloy 800 stainless steel which has the highest anti-corrosion properties and resistance to acidic environments (like beer), and the water heaters are offset so they center on the all stainless bushing/plug for easier install through fermenter or tank ports.
2. The bushing or plug on our heaters is made of stainless steel, unlike cheaper water heaters that use galvanized plugs.
3. These commercial immersion hot water heaters come with a ceramic head (most competitors are made of plastic) which is impervious to heat and the connector contact is embedded in the ceramic (most competitors have the connector contact secured only by the weld to the heating rod), ensuring longevity as it eliminates strain on the heaters rod weld when connecting the wires.
4. The commercial/industrial grade cables are highest quality SOOW and the commercial cable connectors from a high quality leading brand.

1440W/ 120V electric foldback water immersion heater element comes with a fixed 6' power cable (no extension) and a NEMA 5-15 plug (standard North American wall receptacle). The 2000W/4500W/5500W foldback immersion hot water heaters Complete Heater Assemblies come with a NEMA L6-30 plug and extension power cable (removable when not in use to prevent a tripping hazard), and the 8650W and 9500W (3 Phase) water heaters Complete Heater Assemblies come with a NEMA L15-30 plug and extension cord.

The products with L6-30 plugs fit the BREWHA Tabletop Brewing Controller and is temperature thermostat controlled for heating water by a separate Electronic Temperature Controller thermostat which you can be purchased separately. Or, for 208-240V heating, tank heating can alternatively have power controlled by the brewery Touchscreen Brewing Power Controllers which are features an in-built touchscreen controller thermostat. The L15-30 (3 phase power) plugs fit the commercial BREWHA 7BBL Touchscreen Brewing Controller with built-in thermostat. The 7BBL brewery controller has five water heaters output although only 1-5 water heaters need to be connected. If heating a tank only with one heater, a single output 3 phase power touchscreen controller and thermostat (single phase also available) is also available as an alternative to control temperature.

The temperature sensor thermostat accessory products (sensor and sensor cable) need to be added to the cart and purchased separately. The liquid tight sensor is attached to a 1.5" sanitary cap product (connects to a 1.5" sanitary ferrule on your tank) and features either 100mm or 200mm probe. If you tank does not have insulation and the ferrule is standard, short length, the 100mm is sufficient to add to your cart. If your tank has insulation or has longer ferrules, the 200mm is recommended for your tank and can be added to the cart. Sanitary temperature sensors thermostat and sensor cable can be added separately to the cart as needed (typically one sensor product per tank and one cable product per controller).

It is recommended to always contact a certified commercial electrician especially for commercial electrical installations and that a GFCI/GFI be added in order to improve electrical safety with your immersion water heaters.  Read more about electric water heaters safety.

The 8.6kW and 9.5kW 3 phase power hot water immersion heaters feature 3" Tri-clamp/sanitary connection which connect to sanitary 3" ferrules on a tank, has a 1.5"NPS thread on the stainless bushing/plug, and the water heaters Assembly connectors are NEMAL15-30. All other water heater assemblies have a 2" Tri-clamp/sanitary connection which connects to a 2" ferrule on a tank,  the water heater stainless immersion elements threads are 1" NPS, and all Assemblies from 2000W heaters to 5500W heaters have L6-30 connectors. The 120V heater products feature a NEMA5-15 plug. These water heaters and electrical components are certified CSA/UL, and for power output control can be used with the BREWHA Brewing Power Controllers.

To check immersion heater element for hot water heating functionality the electrical resistance can be measured with an ohm/multimeter. The two formulas to use are: Ohms=Volts/Amps and Amps=Watts/Volts (for  the 9500W three phase power water heaters the Watts for each rod are 1/3 of total).

Available as replacement electric immersion water heating elements only, or with stainless sanitary tri-clamp connection and cable whip, or a complete assembly that includes an extension cord. Note: Corrosion of the heaters can occur especially with deionized water (distilled or reverse osmosis 'RO'). Stainless steel relies on a passive film of chromium oxide on the surface of steel. Ordinarily water, ions, and dissolved oxygen help maintain the stability of this film. Without the ions, it makes it difficult for the film to repair itself. Add to this, the low conductivity of deionized water tends to concentrate the corrosion reaction at damaged areas, leading to further, more rapid dissolution. To help prevent this, mix chloride ions (eg. minimum 0.3mg/L of NaCl or CaCl) into the deionized water prior to heating.
