Dry Hop Sight Glass Assembly
Dry Hop Sight Glass Assembly
This assembly make it easy to purge air from hop pellets prior to dry hopping. If fermentation gas has been captured and the tank is under pressure simply put hops in the sight glass, crack the butterfly valve to bleed CO2 through the hops to purge them of air, and release the gas through the top release valve. Then open the butterfly valve wide so the hop pellets drop into the tank. Close the butterfly valve and repeat for multiple additions. (If fermentation gas has not been added, gas can be injected to the tank through a Gas in Post.
The 1.5"TC assembly comes with a release valve, 300mL/10oz sight glass, 1.5" TC butterfly and a 4"TC by 1.5"TC cap reducer.
The 2"TC assembly comes with a release valve, 1.5"TC by 2" cap reducer, 2" 500mL/1pint sight glass, 2" TC butterfly clamp and a 6"TC by 2"TC cap reducer.
Note: Sometimes particularly resinous hops might bridge a little; all it takes is jiggling the valve a few times or repeating the steps a couple times before the hops all drop into the tank.
