These Stainless Mash Drill Mixer / Paddle Attachment products for mixing media when brewing beer, kombucha, hard seltzer, or other beverages. It attaches to an electric drill for easy and thorough mixing of your mash or other lower viscosity materials. To get the best mash efficiency it is important during mashing in to be mixing thoroughly to ensure that there are no dough balls (clumps of grain) and that the grain bed is not compacted. Our custom designed mixers make this job a cinch and being made of 304 stainless steel they are very rust resistant.

The small mixer product is 64mm/2.5" wide at the base by 584mm/23" long and requires a 1/4" chuck size on a drill (6mm / 0.25" rod diameter). The large mixer product is 100mm/4" wide at the base by 890mm/35" long and requires a 1/2" chuck size on an electric drill (10mm / 0.4" diameter). (We have found the Makita DS4012 Variable Speed Electric Drill to be an excellent electric drill for a mixing application.)

The small mixer product has a 6mm / 0.25" rod diameter, and the large mixer product has a 10mm / 0.4" diameter. The Small Mixer product is recommended for mixing in our Small (30L 8 gallon), Medium (60L 16 gallon) and Large (90L 24 gallon) tanks. The Large Mixer product is recommended for our 120L 32 gallon and larger vessels. These tools are effective equipment for your mixing needs.

Thumbs up for the Mash Mixer

I bought the large mash mixer and I use it with a 1/2HP corded DeWalt drill in a 5bbl mash tun. This is a full-sized, double-walled mash tun that is nearly 7ft tall. I was using a food grade mixing hoe and a grape rake used in wineries to mix. They did a fiine job but with 300lbs of grain, it was quite a chore. I now stand on my brew deck with this tool and shred it. This thing made my life a lot easier. Don't skimp on your drill.I have also had a medium BIAC for quite a few years now. It moved from home brewing to serving as my CIP system and keg cleaning unit in the brewery. These things have many uses and it rolls easily out of the way.

Fantastic

This was exactly what I needed. Before getting this, I would stir/mix the mash with a spoon. I was always hitting my pH but my brewhouse efficiency wasn't so hot, especially with lighter SRM beers. I looked into crush, investigated my pH electrode, and spent more time mixing and stirring. Ultimately, my efficiency wasn't what my equipment should produce. With this mixer, it's fixed my problem entirely. It's become clear that my mash wasn't mixed well enough because after acquiring this, I brewed a beer with a grain bill of only pilsner malt and I hit 81% efficiency. Prior to this I was hitting between 58-63% and I was expecting 74%. My brews will be much more aligned with what I intend.
